TVS has announced that they are planning to launch automatic transmission scooters and motorcycles from next year. These vehicles will be 20% more fuel efficient than ongoing TVS models. A lot of research has gone in developing this technology and the company is confident that these models will not only be fuel efficient but also provide it's customers value for money.
The company has claimed that these automatic vehicles will have fully automatic gearshift and that the company has developed a new technology that will help in reducing carbon emission and providing better fuel efficiency than the ongoing models. The TVS Motor Company President Vinay Harne also told the reporters that TVS engineers had been working on this technology from last seven to eight years and that the company will introduce this technology in their currents models as well as their new models from 2013.
One of main advantages of this technology will be that it will provide a vast improvement in pick up as well as initial performance of the vehicle. In order to develop this technology the company has filed many patents across the globe. However the company has not disclosed anything about the prices as yet but experts forecast that once this technology is introduced in the TVS vehicle the prices of TVS two wheeler could take quite a leap from existing prices.
The company has decided that they will offer both the conventional as well as new technology to their customer giving it's customer the final choice of whether purchasing the models with new technology or the conventional one.
