WIN XP - suddenly asking for password
One of my PCs on WIN XP - when booted up is asking for a password - there is no password - just an "Enter" - nobody uses it but one person and he swears by God he did not introduce any password !! :P
When I pressed "enter" the system went onto the desktop as usual, but immediately logged out and the password screen displays itself. How do I rectify this? Or could it be a virus??
Any help, please ::)
Re: WIN XP - suddenly asking for password
Is there any login screen where it need to click on Username ?
Try pressing ctrl+alt+del 2-3 times at login screen and it will then show classic login box, give username as Administrator and leave password blank. Most probably your Admin account is not password protected. If yes then you can then goto control panel and modify the user settings. If there is any password for any user, then you can remove it.
Re: WIN XP - suddenly asking for password
Ricky,
No going around anything in this case - when I repaired the XP with the backup CD, it became alright.
I believe it's some dll corrupted and became OK when I repaired it.
Thanx a lot
