Banking issue for a senior citizen to verify signature
Sir, This pertains to know that how much time a Bank should take to get the signatures verified from a signer citizen whose sign is not matching the current by sending his officer. or any other process
Can the bank/co.op bank disclose whether nomination is done or not if the holder is alive and can he disclose the nominee details after his death
What is the process of incorporation of nominee by a senior citizen who is very old.
please answer the above 3 questions as i am facing lots of problems.
thanks
ashok
Re: Banking issue for a senior citizen to verify signature
1. If the signature is not matching, its at the discreetion of the bank manager to reject a transaction, if he feels any suspicion.
2. You can apply for update in signature, by providing new signature, photo, identity. This might take 1 week
The account holder has to visit the branch for this purpose, and atleast 80-90% of signature should match the old one.
3. The bank cannot disclose any details to non-account holder. After the death of the account holder, there is lot of procedure involved like - getting idemnity, the will, etc which you can discuss with the particular branch manager.

This is a complicated situation, though if funds are big then you can write an application to senior authority of that bank to guide you. Btw, if it is case of PSU bank then I think you are going to see a hard time.
