Nokia Hi-end Cellphone Pricing does not make sense.
Dear all,
I just seemed to witness the launch of Nokia's latest and greatest Cellphone N86 8MP.
Now available at all leading stores at a very reasonable price of 23k..yeah right.
I jumped in joy, but not for the N86, but for a tasty deal on One of Nokia's Slightly older cellphones- maybe N85 or The 1St gen Products - N82, N95.
Alas, my Joy was short lived, and I stumbled upon the fact that- Nokia pricing is too awkward. Here is a better explanation-
King of the Hill- N86 With 8 Megapixel camera Costs 23k
Its little brother, N85 with 5 MP cam and Same Functions Costs 22k- a Mere 1K Difference
I've been eyeing the 1St generation 5Mp Shooters from Nokia- The N82 and N95 (silver), But as odd as it may seem- they are still on offer at 18~19k INR.
My point is, My Dream for getting a mouth watering deal on Slightly older handsets seems going down the drain. Why is Nokia offering its Flagship Model so Cheap? Just 1 K over its 5 Megapixel brothers?
Can someone explain?

Thanks admin,
BTW, Please Comment!!!
My budget is max 17k, i hope you experts may also be able to suggest me a mob with the follwing features-
WIFI and 3G for internet
5 Megapixel camera with good flash
Big screen
Music and video player
GPS
3.5MM Audio jack
Ability to install softwares.
I was also looking at HTC touch 3G, what is its recent price?
Re: Nokia Hi-end Cellphone Pricing does not make sense.
I saw your post and I decided to reply later. However, now it makes two different topics, one about Nokia pricing and other about a good for for 17K.
Anyways, try Samsung G800, everything you want but not sure about GPS, cost around 18 K.
Next you can see N79 but heard that N82 got its priced slashed nearby 16K, so try shops and see what is the actual scene.
But as you said GPS, then your search is rather limited, for this price e71 I feel best however it doesn't have flash. Also 5800 XM is also good choice then.
Re: Nokia Hi-end Cellphone Pricing does not make sense.
Btw, HTC touch 3G cost way above 2oK.. I think around 25 K .. but not really sure.
Re: Nokia Hi-end Cellphone Pricing does not make sense.
Thanks Ricky,
I've noticed that Windows Mobs (HTC touch) are inheritly expensive for their features.
But when Microsoft can sell windows Vista at 20K, so what the news?
BTW, what i am puzzled is, Nokia's new 8MP shooter is ONLY 1 K more than its 5 Mp bros.
Re: Nokia Hi-end Cellphone Pricing does not make sense.
i knw the facts which u have shared are really true but nokia's pricing is always like tht only..
if u compare it with HTC their price is really worth the features.
Re: Nokia Hi-end Cellphone Pricing does not make sense.
Hi Sunidhi,
can you update me on pricing of HTC?
Or Suggest me a good Mob as mentioned above?
