Hey Pluto!
don't get frustrated dude! India is really shining. kindly check the statistics of 1991 and 2001 and then you will come to know the progress.
What is the purpose of such comparison of India between 1991 and 2001.
If an Indian snail moves 10 meters in 1991 and 12 meters in 2001
does it call for any celebration.?
What you should compare is with other nations and see what they
achieved and what India has achieved during the same period.
why does India take so many years to even make a decision and then
blame it all on its democracy, when the real reason is incompetence and
inefficiency.?
its absolutely true that we are crawling but comparing India with US is not justifiable at this point of time.
NY city city has 1000s of things that international tourists are interested in, which India does not possess. i think you should scrutinize things multi dimensionally. there were so many constraints when it comes to utilization of resources in India and people are working to develop all of them in parallel. How could we develop tourism without top-class transition services, good milieu, technologically advanced services and much more things that attracts tourists. all this things cannot improve gradually but whatever improvement is there its quite laudable. you should also know that all those 46 million people are not tourists but a large part are just visitors who take tourists visa to exempt certain taxes.
Your points are valid why NY attracts so many and India so little.
However my comments are not about these reasons..I am asking a simple
question..what the heck were all these brown babus called IAS officers,
the brown netas, leaders and the hundred over Indian consulates and 1000s
of atatches, been doing for the past 30 years and spending 1000's of croes of public
money and showing nothing for it.
The answer is simple. India is a cursed with a wasting disease called
wrongly as "democracy" but which in fact rewards the corrupt, the incompetent and
the inefficient while penalising the talented and hard working.
This is what I am complaining about all these times.
It is time to get real and ask ourselves - are we really having a democracy or
some sham version of it that suits so many chota politicains to become
power peddlers and empire builders.
Yes Pluto, i endorse what you say. But rather than just baffling upon this we should try to bring out some more people onto light and join hands with them and create sensation
That is why in some of my posts I urge readers to circulate
these articles far and wide.
There is a need for awareness. Things have become so bad
in India, because of corruption and inefficiency of
the system.
Do u have any idea or pattern that we can implement?
i m in Hyderabad and hope distance cant stop us from working together
As an individual, the only idea that comes to mind is
expose and tell people the facts and explain how deeply
the country suffers because of waste, inefficiency due to
incompetent bureaucrats and politicians.
Do you have a email.?

u can search for sandeep..surfing life in orkut and youth under vigilance activities(YUVA) is a small initiative that i have taken towards this endeavor.....if you wish then come up with some ideas that we can implement,, i will be obliged to get the same
The difference is astounding. The government should encourage foreigners to visit India (airing commercials, distributing information brochures, etc.). Hopefully the gap will reduce in the coming years.
Govt just overhype but the truth is that we are lagging far behind!
India doesn't have unique attractions that tourists want to see in counries like UK, USA or Australia.
