Network switch 10/100/1000
Hi Guyz
Can we have a 10/100/1000 switch on the sub-LAN, where all the other components of the network are 10/100 only...
would it clash / collide and create trouble networking? All are working fine except those that branch from this switch..
Only a few new laptops have this 10/100/1000 network cards you know...
( Ours is a big network and connected thro' switches every 80 mtrs and we use CAT 5E cable)
Re: Network switch 10/100/1000
They work at lowest protocols.
If Some components are only 10/100......your 1000 Type switch will still work at 10/100
Re: Network switch 10/100/1000
Thank you, but despite all efforts, they are not able to connect consistently with the ERP server...may be there is one more reason I need to explore.. they belong to another domain..but all the protocols are OK..let me see
Thanx anyway for your quick reply
Re: Network switch 10/100/1000
The problem is you have too many routers.
Try to invest in Industrial routers.
Or There's one more thing you can try...
Each router has a DHCP server to distribute IP adress and mach then with MAC codes on each network card.
Keep only ONE DHCP server runnning....disable the DHCP for other routers except main.
