The BSE Sensex extended losses to 2 percent on Thursday afternoon, as investors turned cautious after two consecutive volatile sessions and as a weak Asian market weighed down sentiment.
At 12:09 p.m. (0639 GMT), the 30-share BSE index was down 1.84 percent at 15,618.63 points, with 26 components declining.
The 50-share NSE Index was down 1.7 percent at 4,630.40.
