Taare Zamin Par : Synopsis & Review
The Concept
Movie revolves around childhood, specially for the child who are little different has to fight to get adjust in this so called normal world. It teaches us that child has their own world and should not ruin it because of our over-expectation. Nurture their natural talent and the movie is about a special child and how he got his world back with suitable help/ guidance.
The Movie
Aamir Khan's directorial debut, movie revolves around Ishaan Awasthi (Darsheel Safary) who is fun loving child, he has his own world (as most children do) but he is little different as he finds it hard to match his imagination with the child of his own age group who are rather more normal ie. into studies.
His parents find it difficult to handle him or make him go normal or go with the pace of world and finally they sends him to boarding school. There he faces his worst nightmare, as away from parents he looses his confident, find it even more difficult to adjust in world around.
There, Ram Shankar Nikumbh ie. Aamir Khan, a temporary art teacher at school, who has his own unique way to teach children, finds that apart of Ishaan, every other child is loving his way and responding him with enthusiasm. Then he (Aamir) tries to understand this child and with various effort, he, with series of incidents he finally gets his confident, his energy and his childhood back.
The Conclusion
The subject of movie is simple, so predictive but is sensitive and Aamir has succeeded in giving us a respectable movie to watch and to talk about. Dyslexia never means that child is impossible, rather he is special. Movie makes you to understand childhood and it instantly connects with every adult and child.
You know that what is going to come next but the way Aamir has been able to maintained the flow, you will just find yourself attached to the child, very much in the movie itself.
At few places, there is some lag but over all you won't get disappointed. This movie explain a part of life which many parents overlooks but is very mandatory to understand.
Performance of this Darsheel (ie. the child) is overwhelming, Aamir is good and rest of the crew is fine.
Go and watch it .
We rate it as Good

Re: Indian Movie Review: Aamir's Taare Zamin Par (2007-Hindi- Bollywood)
The first half of the movie was amazingly good. The child actor simply tugs at your heart strings. Prior to the Interval we could hear most in the audience sobbing some even openly & this we are talking in one of the biggest multiplexes in Mumbai.
Its relatively easy for any actor esp a child to act if the situation requires her/him to use physical actions - gesturing, tantrums, shouting, but in TZP the child's emotions & feelings reach out thru his eyes- the pleasure , the joy, the frustration, the rebellion- its all there right on his face & later of course in his drooping shoulders & literally dead eyes that say it all.
Infact Aamir in his entry scene brings in a complete Bollywood feel to the movie & the child actor continues to overshadow all. Though later Aamir is more restrained & less Bollywood though still cliched where the content & the process of handling the child was concerned esp the end ( probably there was no better end!!)
In the movie ' Black ' the child most of the time was in the midst of a temper tantrum/ frenzy & where Rani was concerned I simply had difficulty finding her convincing when all the time I was remembering Nasseer ud din Shah in 'Sparsh'. Amitabh at times was simply over the edge tho he has been commended by most for this movie.
In this respect TZP simply holds your interest till the end as there are no comparisons, no extremes, no parallels. As mentioned earlier the child actor is par excellence.
