China objects to PM’s Arunachal visit
NEW DELHI / MUMBAI: Amid warming of ties, China has taken exception to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s recent visit to Arunachal Pradesh and his assertion that the State belongs to India, evoking a strong reaction from New Delhi.
Almost a week after Dr. Singh visited Arunachal Pradesh and said the State is “our land of rising sun”, Chinese Foreign Ministry officials have conveyed to officials at the Indian Mission in Beijing that they are unhappy with the visit and Dr. Singh’s comments there.
Beijing feels that it was not appropriate for the Prime Minister to visit a State major parts of which it claims are its territory.
Pranab’s assertion
In a sharp reaction, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday asserted that Arunachal Pradesh is a part of India and the Prime Minister has the right to visit any part of the country.
“Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of our country. We are having regular representation in our Parliament elected by people of Arunachal Pradesh. ,” Mr. Mukherjee said on the sidelines of a private function in Mumbai. — PTI

Re: China objects to PM’s Arunachal visit
India must understand one thing, Strength is right. We have sine long have been proud and at times in our meek ways to glorify ourselves as peace loving nation. If China has the courage to question the visit of an Indian PM and that too on India's sovereign territory then we should also reserve our right to question the status of Taiwan and Tibet, or even better, declaring Tibet as a buffer state, we should reserve our right to show belligerence. But this won't happen because some uncle Sam would step in to stop its 'once in a while' angry nephew to tell that you can't do this you are so peace loving, you are the land of Budhha. If the country with more followers of Budhha can preach and practice miltance and belligerence, then why can't we? Its a shame. Even now if a strong word comes from the executive its allies, our dear old (mostly very very old) commarades would react differently. This country has more traitors than nationalist.Churchill said ""A nationalist ought to be narrow minded", but defending the motherland is neither unjustified nor narrow minded.
