Medical student (20 yrs) in love with 29 years boy ..a Marketing executive

Like all other problems discussed here i too have one... Am a Medical student ,aged 20 and deeply in a relationship. He's a marketing executive in a company abroad... We both belong to 2 different states in India. His family agrees our relation. In my family the problems they are pointing out are 1) profession 2)age(He's 29) 3)Place. My Mother have spoken with Him more than 5 times within our 3 year relationship.. She do like him but the problems mentioned above keeps her back in accepting him.. Now ma Dad is seeking alliance for me and am in condition like i must talk to him and convince him about my love... Am really afraid f how he's gonna react with this.. He wont torture me or hurt me but am afraid weather he will get hurt and leave us all ... My mom is also tensed about the same thing.. I really dont know what 2 du.. :(:(

You didn't mention how you guys met? Was it online or you guys know each other. Also, in these 3 years of your relationship, how many times have you guys really met in person. I understand he is working abroad and lives in a different state than yours. The question arises, how much to you get to see each other? Have you met his parents, his family etc ? Moreover, the guy is 29 years old... he has already crossed the ideal age for marriage. What are his parents have to say on this?

The reason why I am asking these questions is, I want to convince myself that things are pretty strong at your end. Before you hit it at your father, its very much important for you ( and, me ) to understand firmness of your relationship.
So, I suggest that you details us a bit more on the subject and answer the questions mentioned.

I understand age and profession can be a problem, but why is place an issue? He is 9 years elder to you which is a considerable age difference. However it won't matter to me, but for your parents, they might find it a little difficult to digest it. Also, that you are a medical student tells me that its actually very early for you to get married. It will take another 2-3 years for you to settle down in life but that might create problem at the guy's side because his age is.... increasing.

Though your parents have started seeking match for you, I don't think so they will marry you now. They would ideally wait till you graduate, at least.

So, wait for a little more time before you disclose about your relationship to your father. You cannot just talk to him in vague. You need reasons to support your answers, a balance of emotional and practical sides of yours etc.

Please give the answers to above questions for us to advice you better.
