XOLO A700 battery problem - how to increase battery life

Hi,

I have purchased Xolo A700 and I am quite satisfied with phones' performance but battery is giving me big trouble . I am not able to use it for whole day easily. What is way to get its battery life increased ? Can I replace its battery with some more powerful battery to get longer backup . It is so frustrating to see phone battery dying when you really need it .. kindly help me to fix this problem . Can I install some android application which can save battery life ?
