HTC Desire V Images get corrupt on their own

Hi guys,
I am having a new HTC Desire with me. It is HTC Desire V with Android 4.0 ICS. I have noticed that images got corrupt on their own in the phone. Initially, I thoght that it was due to my mistake only but, later I realized that images get delete without any message or warning. While checking, I also found that pictures taken were corrupted.
Have I been cheated with fake accessories, if so then let me know how to identify it?
