Associated .lnk shortcuts with firefox, now unable to open any program

Hi,

I made a mistake and have associated .lnk with firefox and now windows is trying to open all shortcut to programes with firefox and also now the icon for all short cut is firefox icon. I also tried to change fileassociation from start--> default program but it is not working because there it only allows you to chage file association but not remove it completely. So I can associate it with other program but can't remove it ..

I am running windows 7
