Do you believe in Transmigration of the soul? Have you read about Near Death situations? I often wonder of that state when the heart stops functioning and the brain still goes on. Often heart beats can be later revived. Does the person feel anything in between? Is it registered in the store? :-\
I don't think anything happens in between but yes, as the blood supply to brain get affected, people get hallucination because brain do not dies instantly after heart failure. So people who faced such situation ie. dead for minutes and then get back will come with some weird experiences which they might not even explain.

That explains the near death situations to some extent.
Some sites state that these people have a feeling as if they have entered a tunnel and just when they were almost out of the tunnel there's a jerk and they get back to the conscious world.
Proof off course is not possible other than the invention of a brain monitoring machine.
