Hindi Movie Review - Agneepath 2012
Karam Johar’s Agneepath is the remake of a hit in which Amitabh Bachchan had played the main character of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. The film had brought National Award for Mr. Bachchan for his classy performance in the movie. Twenty two years later, the film has been made again but with a new flavor and colors that will suit today's audience taste. The film has been directed by a debutant director Karan Malhotra under the guidance of Karan Johar who has given the industry some major hits in his time.
This film has it's all action, vengeance, emotions and drama. Since it was known to all that comparisons are bound to happen the film was fresh touches and there was some changes in the plot of the film. The debutant director has done a great job and it is really hard to believe that the film has been directed by a debutant director.
However the film plot remains the same. Kancha Cheena played by Sanjay Dutt is the don of Mandwa Island, who has killed a schoolmaster who had rebelled against him. The schoolmaster's son swears that he willl take revenge for this. This son grows up to be Vijay Dinanath Chauhan played by Hrithik Roshan. Vijay then in his wish to take revenge uses Rauf Lala palyed by Rishi Kapoor who guides him and helps him to take his revenge. Lala is a criminal who trades in human and drug trafficking. And then starts the journey of revenge. Here starts his journey of revenge, which he has in his heart for Kancha. Vijay Dinanath in the process of taking revenge falls in love with Kali played by Priyanka Chopra and gets her support in tough times. Kali is one who motivates him to take the revenge and gives her strength when he needs it most. Whether is able to take revenge is something you will have to see the movie for.
Karan Malhotra has done his job with class and maturity and he is sure to get success in this industry. The action sequences has been directed by Abbas Ali Mogul and deserves special applauds. Those who love action movies will love the action sequences and it will definitely satisfy their thirst. The audiences simply enjoy every sequence shown in the movie. Ajay-Atul’s music is splendid though there is hardly any song which turned chart buster except Chikni Chameli but they all are listenable and mellifluous. The background score has also been done by the duo Ajay-Atul and it is superb and melodious. The Screenplay is given by Ila Bedi Datta and Karan Malhotra is above average and doesn't have any serious flaws in it. The dialogues is written by Piyush Mishra and are splendid. The Cinematography department is handled by Kiran Deohans and Ravi K. Chandran and they have a fabulous job and deserve adequate applaud.
Hrithik Roshan has done wonderful job and maganes to play the character of Vijay Dinnanath Chauhan with a brilliance and awe and has full justice to the role of Amitabh’s character. Sanjay Dutt as Kancha is magnificent and has deliverd a master performance after many years. His negative role surpasses his previous negative roles he did in Khal Nayak and Vaastav. Rishi Kapoor impresses with his role and has done a average work and to mention he has done a negativre role for a first time in careear. Priyanka Chopra is great to watch and given a supporting performance to the main character of the film.
On an all it is a film that you should watch if you are a action lover and Hrithik Fan's. It is a movie that can be watched and i am sure that you will not regret watching it. It's a money worth.
