CNN IBN and IBN7 the English and Hindi channel had made a hero out of Abu Azmi when he spoke in Hindi in Maharashtra assembly. At the same time IBN LOKMAT the marathi channel of IBN group was criticising him, Sunil Wagle clearly saying that Azmi was wrong in taking oath in hindi. Delivering News is nothing but a lucrative business. Hence they tell us exactly and only what we want to hear. Is this Media Activism?
Today the media fraternity staged a protest in and other places demanding that violance against media be made a non bailable offence. Good, but what about a strong law to make media accountable? Who is going to ask for that? Would media cover such a demand? If no, then would the political class bother to take notice?
