New Lithium-sulfur batteries can run your phone 4 times longer

Currently, lithium-ion batteries are the gold standard for energy storage in our electronics and electric cars, but for a long time researchers have believed that lithium-sulfur batteries would become an even better choice because of their high energy density compared to their weight and now with a new breakthrough in the technology.

Researchers at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) have come up with a promising design for a lithium-sulfur rechargeable battery that is considerably cheaper and energy-dense than standard lithium-ions. Using a solid electrolyte rather than a liquid one, the battery is also testing much safer and more durable than previous designs.

Lithium-sulfur batteries are seen by some as the successors of lithium-ions because they are extremely light , they are often used for solar-powered flight, they can reach an impressive energy density, and they are cheaper to produce.

This is interesting, it will be good to see device with sulfur battery which last long and cheaper to use. What you all guys think will sulfur clearly wash Li-on battery from the market.
