What to write in mother's maiden name in SBI online acccount application ?

I am trying to fill an online account opening application form for my mother's account. Everything is good but there is a field which says "Mother's Maiden Name". Now what that means ? Searching online gives me that give her name before marriage but I am confused because before marriage her name was same or I need to give name of her mother's maiden name ? I am even more confused now and I think I don't even know full name of my Naani (grand mother).

Why they need to know maiden name at all for this ..

You are right, its name of your mother's mother before her marriage.

So, if your grandmother , ie. your nani name was Kainaat bano before marriage , then its her maiden name. And if you are really confused then simply ask the bank guys , you can also contact them through their customer care number, check their website for details.
