Using RTI to ask question to Government regarding trees cutting

Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum and hence excuse me if I am breaking any rules here.

Recently I read an article wherein government of gujarat had passed a law regarding cutting of trees in government lands (other than highways and forests).

Now I am really concerned about the mangroove wetlands on the shores of gujarat.

I want to ask to gujarat government about the reason behind passing this law.

Can I use RTI here?

Under RTI act you can get all information, documents, statistics, file notings, etc., with this you can approach concerned Ministries both Central as well as State and also file PIL in the High Court/Supreme Court - this will help to concerve forest,

what a great issue u covered with rti. i think u must definately ask to government for more info regarding this problem for a better solution.
