Shashikant Hotkar - Mumbai Shree denied attending Gold Gym

Shashikant Hotkar , winner of Mumbai Shree for the year 2011 was taken completely by surprise when his membership to was terminated without any notice. The reason which the authorities gave for expelling him was that he was a "professional " in this industry. Hotkar had paid amount of 20,400 to avail the gym facilities. Hotkar said that he was refused to enter the gym from 4 of December and the gym authorities are not even bothered to give him a refund of his money.

Rajesh Sawant, treasurer, All India Bodybuilding Association, said, "The fact that Hotkar is a professional in the fitness industry does in no way disqualify him from training in a private gym. Every professional bodybuilder has a right to work out in a gym of his or her choice."


The bizarre reason gave by the gym authorities is far from understanding and just goes on to show how insensitive we are towards our sportsperson.

Quite right buddy , first of all we don't provide our sportsperson with proper training facilities and then expect them to win medals for us.

The RUDE incident where, Shashikant Hotkar's golds gym membership was cancelled, without a logical reason, while also not refunding his gym membership fees, which were not less than 20,600/- goes to say without doubt the high handed management of golds gym, their audacity to behave in any which way they want.There is no reason for cancelling a members membership on grounds of him being a professional bodybuilder.Then how come great bodybuilders in US haven't had their memberships cancelled?I say if this is way golds gym wants to run their operations in India, then they better go back to where they came from.There was bodybuilding in India before them & it will be better without them here.Lets boycott golds gym as a protest against such dictatorship ways.JAI HIND

I would say, "Sue Gold Gym's pants off !". The court might even levy a fine for harassment.

there are no rights??????? nothing that can make the refund possible with an apology and force them legally to let him train there????????
