What is dark chocolate compound and whats difference between it and real dark choco?

Hello friends,

I love dark chocolate but sometimes its hard to find them, if you find them they are mostly imported and very very highly priced. But I came to know about dark chocolate compound, it costs real low , but I am confused what is it ?

I searched and says that it is prepared with cocoa but cocoa butter is subsituted with some vegetable fat thus making it cheaper. So, cocoa is used in it but is it really dark chocoloate by nature or just by flavour and texture ?

What is actual difference between two ?

I think its not really dark chocolate by nature, it may resemble dark chocolate but cocoa content is lot lesser because it is supposed to be cheaper, so lesser the cocoa , cheaper it is.
