Chandrayaan -1 an important milestone (ISRO's mission) for space research

With the successful launch of PSLV and the progress the ISRO has achieved (ISRO planning to eject the moon impact probe Nov 14-15 from the spacecraft and crash it onto the lunar surface at a designated area), will go a long way in the history of Indian space research. Chandrayaan-1, which carries 11 scientific instruments, including six foreign payloads-two from the US, three from the European Space Agency (ESA) and one from Bulgaria (remaining five are indigenously designed and developed by various centres of the state-run ISRO). Hope they achieve the target and hoist the Indian tri-colour in a day or two. Hats off to ISRO.......

India's ISRO has made some big plannings for the next decade or so.....and 12th year plan is fully backing the ISRO.....It's a great news indeed...many more milestones are on the way for sure...........

Even though the payload for Chandrayaan- 2 has been finalized, its launch will have to wait till 2016 or until the Russian Lander is ready for deployment. So I guess we wait and watch till further developments. True, Chandrayaan -I was a milestone, the launch of the Rover from Chandrayaan- 2 and its stereophonic camera based 3D vision - will provide the ground team controlling the rovers a 3D view of the surrounding terrain.This will also tell us if a manned mission to the moon is feasible by ISRO.
