Family won't allow me (a girl) to do job even after doing B.Tech

Dear Friends,

I am mentally very uncomfortable :(
Firstly, i was not interested in doing engineering but my family made me take admission in engineering college.
now i am finally an engineer and my family is not allowing me to do job. I dont want to stay at home and waste my time n hard work. They ask me to get a job near my home but there is no job for me in the area where I live.

I used to stay at college hostel for 3 years and then i stayed at my maternal aunt's home for 1 year during my academic era. Now my family dont allow me to stay anywhere. they want me to come back to home and do job here. but there is no job.

Initially I was not willing to stay far from home and they sent me to the other city for studies now the situation i I am settled in that city and I dont want to come back.

What should I do now? I think i will get sick at home all alone and without any work.
Kindly give me some good suggestions

Try to convince your parents when they are in a good mood and tell them about work profession. Tell them the work you do is not available in your area. I think since you are a girl so they must be worried which is an inherited nature of almost all the indian parents.

Well, for obvious reasons, your parents are worried about you and your personal security in the city you are putting up. Moreover, like the MNC culture which demands an employee to work in late shifts/night shifts, it becomes really difficult for parents to deal with when their lovely daughter is dwelling in a different city, far from them. And, this is in most probable reason, why your parents are against you doing a job there.

All you can do is, try to talk to your parents about this. Ask them what was the use to send you away from them to do engineering when they were really not interested in putting you into job ? The most appropriate answer to this would be that you were living in a girl's hostel inside the premises of your college campus and thereafter stayed with maternal aunt, which is why they were carefree. But now since you have passed your college, you won't be availing the hostel facility, they are tensed.

So, try to convince them that you are looking for a good PG for girls which is really secure for girls to put up in. Just in case, if you find one, you can call your father over to let him have a check on the security of the PG, so that he is confirmed that their ward is safe. Meanwhile, you can convince your parents that you will be living with your aunt.

If, they still don't agree, ask them to talk to your aunt and request her to share her home with you. Since you are earning and a girl, you won't find any difficulty in paying off a small amount of rent to her and contributing in the household work or help her out.

You can also call your father there and give him the liberty to choose a safe place for you to live in. He can also stay with you for sometime so that he gets acquainted with the corporate culture and surroundings. You can also introduce him to some of your friends so that he feels satisfied.

That's, the best you can do, I suppose.

well, there are obvious reasons as Pulkitvsaid for your parents for not allowing u to do job outside the place of your residence or outside the city the main concern for them is the security of their daughter.
You can do 2 things here to make your wish come true:
1. Try to talk to your father, that if they dont allow you to work at the MNC, what will the use of their efforts and dream of seeing their daughter as an engineer and as far as working at your place of residence or city is concerned, there is no job available for the person of ua caliber to work for. Try to tell them that if they would not allow you to work, how can their dream of seeing their daugter to work as an individual come true and as far as choosing a better and safe place your security is concerned, you mayvleave the choice to him for doing that as he may then feel remaxed about your security after choosing a place by himself.
2. You can tell your father to ask permission from your aunt to share her home with you for some consideration as rent after which she also may not object for keeping u with her. Also you may not hesitate to pay her a small amount from your handsome salary and this is how u may get ua dream to work alive and real......try this two tricks till then will find some other alternative to convince ua father to let u work at the place where u have settled.. :)
