How to make component in Joomla 2.5

Hey friends,
I am trying to make components in JOOMLA but getting failed to do so. I am just learning the functions and features of joomla. So, the problem is due to my low knowledge of the same. But still I want to work on it and know more about it.
Please help me out to find out the easiest way of making me understand.
