Family not accepting my love as she is not fair enough

I am 31 Yrs old Kayastha (Srivastava), i am in love a girl which is in same cast she is also Srivastava, her family is ready for this marriage, but my mom and other family members are not agree bcoz the girl which i have chosen for me is not so fair as my all family members and relatives are.

problems are

1. She is not fair
2. Her father is dong job in police department
3. She is more healthy then me.

These are the major reason for my mom to cut my marriage. One of my relative tell my mom about my relationship with that girl before i am going to tell my mom. I have told all the thing to my mom sisters and relative but they are not agree with this marriage.

Kindly tell me how can i convene my family for this marriage.

Its very hard to convince parents. What you can do is ask your girl friend to loose some weight if she can as it will enhance her beauty. And you can also try explaining your parents about other qualities of your girl friend by saying that she will keep you guys happy and all. After all looks do fade away after sometime its just the love that matters.

Tell your parents about her nature. If you are really in love with that girl, than go ahead. Your parents will also accept her

If you really think that you will be happy with her.....just try to convince continue to your parents.... am sure they will surely understand your real feelings.

Well, nothing much to say here. Everything that sameeksha, suman59 and aditigir said, is all correct. Tell your parents, its your choice and you like her the way she is. While your mother finds fair people good looking, you find wheatish people attractive. Simple !!

l think there might be some other reason for you family not agreeing to marry you to your girl friend, not being fair and being more healthy than you doesnot seem to me are the perfect reasons for the denial, you see, there might be some major issue too about this, but for now try finding a definite reason and tell your girlfriend to join a Gym and have a workout to loose weight and try to earn a perfect physique, and keep on convincing your parents till you win the situation. Introduce your Gf to your home and let her try to convince your parents through her nature and win their hearts. If you truly love her, then go for it, this is the real test, fight for her or loose her choice is yours....
