Converting private car in to taxi is not suggested, its better to go for new one as you have to again pay taxes etc for taxes while you have already paid lifetime taxes on registration of your car.
Anyways, it is called T-Permit and following re its requirements :
1) You need to have a valid Gumasta certificate. (search online for its details)
2) Valid parking letter from society or from the place where you are about to park your vehicle.(may differ from place to place)
3) A rubber stamp of your company and IT returns.
4) You need renew insurance as well as registration every year hence expect approx. 25,000 to 35,000/- is the lump sum expense you can expect at the end of each year which will get reduced as the years pass.
Best I suggest is that contact couple of RTO agents and ask them procedure, you can also visit your RTO office and ask for procedure directly from the Babus there.
