A mother selling her own child for Rs. 62

Selling of her own son for rs 62 by a beggar lady of Bihar is reflection of failure of policies and programs undertaken by govt to uplift weaker sections of society. This also reveals callousness of our society for those who are at the lowest economic strata. Even the news reader kept on saying that the lady was beggar by profession without realizing that begging is not a profession.
This is not first incident of its kind, nor Bihar is the only place where it has happened. Stories of selling of sons and daughters by parents who are devastated economically are scattered throughout the country.
As a society we seldom take interest in uplifting weaker sections. We look at them with hate, we find them necessary outside pilgrims to enable us to do charity but we are not concerned how they live.
Work of social reforms and uplifting weaker sections is left to the govt whose corrupt employees are not capable of giving any progress to the programs govt initiates.
Govt policies and programs will go on but what can bring a change in this, is our collective work.
