My boyfriend's whole family thinks i am ugly and dark

Hi..
I have been in a relationship for about 5 years. His mother one day saw some pictures of me on his camera and well they weren't my best pics. She says (says it aloud) that i am very dark and ugly. His brother (who is 18) teases him and says that you ll marry this dark, ugly girl and have ugly kids. His mother has even told his relatives (his aunt and all) that his girlfriend is ugly and they also advice him to leave me and marry a girl of their choice. He even showed them some of my good pics but their opinion does not change. They are after his life teasing him n telling him to break up with me. Well they say all this to him and he tells me all this as well. I am very hurt. What should I do? n yes we r in a long distance relationship (he is studying in Canada). He loves his family and would never think of leaving them. So , I guess I will have to hear such negative comments about me throughout my life? What should I do? He keeps on pushing me to be more presentable, to dress better ( yes he does not say that i am beautiful, he says u cud become beautiful). But his family, his mom find me ugly no matter what. What am I supposed to do?
please help me, I am very hurt.

Well, I have read your post and throughout the post I have only come to know that the main intentions of the guys family is to seperate you ans your guy, you are already in a far distance from ua guy being in an LDR, there is a fair chance that, they might get successful on their intentions, what surprises me more is nit the behavior of his parents as it is normal for me, but I am pretty surprised with the way ua bf thinks about you, he tells u that u r not pretty and you have to become, well if that was the case, did he not noticed that while stepping in with u and being for so long wid u, now that he is pressurised by his family, he is feeling the heat from the family he is blaming you for a silly reason, if he would have loved u, he would not have blamed u and would have accepted u the way you are and not ask u to change yourself just for the sake of his family, this simply says that you will definitely have to act as per his family in future too if you happened to be marrying him
