Can property details of a Village Sarpanch be demanded under RTI ?

Sir,

Can the details of a village sarpanch and his family members be demanded under under RTI .It is pertinent to mention here that the Sarpanch himself is SPIO. Many sarpanches are amassing huge wealth during tenure.

See if Sarpanch is termed as Government employee or Government representative then sure you can file RTI for his wealth but I am not sure about his family members.

You can file RTI against him. No problem if he himself is SPIO..
These people hardly take care of such things, moreover there is no record of their expenditure from Govt provided funds, its obvious that their most of the wealth is not really from their real work.

yes you can avail benefit of RTI Act and there are several precedents where they got all details and the culprits have been punished

Of course one can seek the information about the property details of the village Sarpanch who is governed by certain rules framed by GOI. If his assets are beyond his income, he is liable to be treated at par with other criminals.
