In which order to watch star war movies before Force Awakens (2015)

Hi everyone,

Since star wars : The force awakens has been released and its making very good around the world. I think I should also watch it so deciding to get old star war movies DVD. I think its also high time to watch this movie becuase now everyone is talking about it and also its one of the highest grossing film of all time in North America already. So when colleagues are talking about it, I don't want to feel dumb.

I was suggested by friends that don't watch latest franchise of movie series if you have not seen old one. Here is the list of old ones in order of release, now tell me should I watch them as they are released or should I change order to enjoy even better ?

Star Wars Episode IV:
A New Hope May 25, 1977

Star Wars Episode V:
The Empire Strikes Back May 21, 1980

Star Wars Episode VI:
Return of the Jedi May 25, 1983

Star Wars Episode I:
The Phantom Menace May 19, 1999

Star Wars Episode II:
Attack of the Clones May 16, 2002

Star Wars Episode III:
Revenge of the Sith May 19, 2005


I could watch them as per EPISODE but I then wonder as they were "prequels" were released after episode IV V and VI, it could be confusing. So here I comes for advice, suggest me which order I should watch if you have seen all ...

V: The Empire Strikes Back (original trilogy)
I: The Phantom Menace (prequel trilogy)
II: Attack of the Clones (prequel trilogy)
III: Revenge of the Sith (prequel trilogy)
VI: The Return of the Jedi (original trilogy)
VII: The Force Awakens (sequel trilogy)
