I am going to buy a new mobile connection for GPRS use only . I want to know speed of Uninor GPRS connection. I don't whether they have started but if anyone used its service then please tell me. SHould I buy it or its GPRS speed bad ?

When the Damm Company would lanuch its gprs service. With out completion of every thing why these guys lanuch into the market. stupid business trip.........

Uninor has put some speed restrictions it seems. The speed is consistent and was earlier around 48 Kbps earlier is now around 80-100 Kbps. I hope they realise that data usage plans are something which attracts prepaid users and good economical data plans but with slow net speed defeat the very purpose of net browsing making it frustrating for the users and a frustrated user will only change service provider thanks to MNP ! All service providers should realise that the quantity (MB) is useless is the quality (speed) is low. But Uninor is much better than Airtel. Go for it !Quote:

Iam using uninor gprs for last 2 months.. The downloading speed ranges in 15-20kbps which is pretty good as compared to others. Its giving 115kbps.. I think this is better than other 2G services at present
remember that kbps = kilobits/sec and kBps = kilobytes/sec 1kB = 8kb
are there 3g plans for uninor?
Speed of GPRS in uninor is very bad.you will try BSNL 3G speed of this is very good .

Downloading speed came 20kb/s to 35 kb/s on 2g connection..
And on 3g i think 150kb/s to 200kb/s..
idea is best for 3g. I have calculate 859kb/s on my lappy by connecting with the phone..
Speed of an internet connection depends on specific area network so better check out with nearby people for same as they can give you exact information.
