NASA's Kepler space telescope has discovered a planet which have several similarities to Planet Earth. Kepler22b is named after Kepler , a planet hunting telescope , which was launched on march 7, 2009 .The motive of this telescope is to discover new planets . Since February 2011, Kepler has discovered 1,094 planets out of which 48 have turned out to be genuine planets.

The planet is 2.4 times the size of Earth. It orbits a star similar to Earth's sun and the surface temperature is estimated to be around 22 degree Celsius .Astronomer's say that the temperature of Kepler22b makes it quite possible that it possess liquid water. It is believed that Kepler space telescope had to wait for Kepler22b to pass three times before it could confirm that it is a planet and not just a candidate.NASA still does not know what the planet is made of, however; it could be predominantly rock, gas or liquid. Kepler22b is about 600 light years or 3,600 trillion miles from Earth. Kepler22b orbits a star much like a sun, which can be a bit dimmer than sun.

NASA is determined to conduct more experiments on Kepler22b before it can reach to some important conclusions.

That is 600 light years, so if you want to reach that planet after traveling of 1 year then you need to have speed of 20547 kmph. Hence , currently its only an imagination.
