Scientist have discarded the popular belief which used to say that people who are more exposed to technology and gadgets like mobiles and computers tend to sleep less. Nicholas Glozier and his colleagues at the University of Sydney, have found out that there has been no significant changes over almost 20 years in the amount of sleep that the people around the world are getting. "Public health concerns over declining sleep duration do not appear to be warranted," the Herald Sun quoted the authors as saying.

The scientist have concluded that sleep duration is sometimes affected by various factors such as higher education, longer office hours, stress , anxiety , pressures and lifestyle that a individual follows and it cannot be affiliated to technology alone. The researchers have also found out that lack of sleep can also cause severe health problems like heart diseases, obesity, irritated, blurred visions, lack of energy in body.

Hence scientists have concluded that lack of sleep can be associated with other reasons rather than technology.
