Nissan Ashok Leyland TechnologiesLtd which is a joint venture between Ashok Leyland and Nissan Motors is planning to launch new passenger vehicle in the country by the year 2013-14. These passenger vehicles will run on diesel or CNG fuel. The seating capacity of these vehicles will be for eight to twenty four passengers. The company has announced that they will launch a new variant every year for next 5 years.

Mr. Sumantran, Chairman of Ashok Leyland Technologies said at the occasion of inauguration of company’s 21st dealership in the Indian market, "We launched the vehicle in September, 2011. The reaction and response from the market has been very positive. The booking had surpassed 3,000 units." These vehicle will be of 12.5 GVW( Gross Vehicle Weight) and will have a payload capacity of 5-6 tonnes.
