In a answer to America's GPS navigation, China has launched it's own navigation system network called Beidou which means a compass in Chinese language. China has been working on this navigation system since 2000 and has reportedly spent millions of dollars on this project. This will certainly make China less dependent on other countries as far as technology is concerned.

China feared that in a situation of a military conflict with United States, US can switch off their GPS Navigation System for China. The Stagiest have claim that this fear has motivated China to develop their own Navigation System. With this system citizens of China will have accuracy of 10 meters and speed measurements as accurate as .2 meters per second. Military will access to more accurate data than citizens which will be of great help in times of war. In initial stages this satellite will be covering Mainland China and some nearby areas of Asia and by 2020 it will have a full coverage.

European Countries are also working on their GPS system which will be completed by 2019. United States military leader has said that they are upgrading their system so as to provide more accurate information to military in near future.
