A proud moment for Indians at Auto Expo when DC Avanti, when first sports car to be manufactured by an Indian Firm was launched. The news got bigger when it was confirmed by the Firm that it will soon start it's production and it will available be in various showrooms across the country by the end of 2012. The car is expected to be priced something around 30lakhs rupees.




As far it's engineering is concerned it will be powered by Ford's revolutionary ECO boost engine technology which is a petrol engine. The engine will be capable of pumping out 243PS with 366Nm of torque. It ha a 2.0 liter DOHC four cylinder which will feature a direct injection, four valves per cylinder with variable valve timing. It will also have a six speed manual gearbox. As far as it's safety is concerned the car will be equipped with ABS and Airbags. The car also has a suspension which consist of a unequal length wishbones in conjunction with coil over shock absorbers that will provide it with good suspension.

The manufacturer has planned to manufacture around 200 cars in initial years but plans to increase that number to 2000 cars in coming years. It is certainly a good news for all speed lovers in India as they will now be able to drive homemade Sports Car. The manufacturer are confident that this car is a combination of speed as well as style and performance.
