BMW, who previously announce launch of BMW Mini in India in 2009 has postponed the launch saying that market does not appear to be viable.

Company said that they have just finished the feasibility study it pointed that it is not right time to launch this model in India. However we do not say that we won't launch it. We have just postponed the launch. BMW MINI is small car but carries the price tag of premium car.

BMW Mini will be launched during the 2012 Auto Expo. BMW Mini Cooper price in India is most likely to touch Rs 23 lakh. The bookings for the Mini Cooper are expected to begin from 2012. The Mini Cooper is expected to be launched in India in two variants, a two door coupe and as a convertible. The Mini Cooper is going to attract a custom duty of 102% as it makes to the Indian shores as a CBU (Completely Built Unit).
