My doctor asked me to give blood sample for blood urea test. I don't know what he is looking for. I need to what is the purpose of this blood urea test (pathology test) ?

My report says that it is 29.8 mg / dl

Is it ok or there some problem ?

Blood urea is often seen with another test that is serum creatinine. These two test is done to see functionality of kidney. If both level increases simultaneously that means you have a malfuntioning kidney. If only urea increase but creatinine is marginally increased than you have dehydration. urea 29.8 is not alarming. sleep in peace.
