Moral policing has shaken India and the world once again. Guwahati incident is not the first of its kind. Cultural hooligans are scattered throughout the country and there growth is cause of concern for the civil society we are living in. What is most disturbing is callousness of police which did not take appropriate action then and there and the act of the scribe who shot the entire shameful act.
Surprisingly performers of shameful act on the road were not scared by the law of the land. All of the passers by (barring one) preferred to let the crime go on. Are we shameless or we have been made cowards by the system.
Media pressure forced govt and the law enforcing agencies to act. Existing laws are not working as a deterrent for criminals. NGOs protest in favor of those who rape and murder innocent minors, police does not heed to yelling of tormented women, rapist and murderers succeed in getting president's pardon, now where on earth Indian women should go.
When women are not safe in public places, on roads, in police stations, in schools, in work places and even in their own houses we can understand deterioration of social values and the society itself. We should come out of somnolence and act to have stringent laws and effective police. When existing ladies police is not functioning properly why not disband it and raise national police for crime against women.

Indeed its a shameful crime and yes, we need to act immediately upon it. But I want to ask, reports says that there were around 40-50 people in that mob molesting that girl, the question here rises, what made those people united ? Were the part of some group or were just coming out of that pub and then got grouped.. were they group of friends partying and then involved in such inhuman act... ?

One more thing come out of this act.. that is mentality of men in Indian society, majority are so insensitive , its just ridiculous but I still believe, it can happen anywhere in India, here a common lay'man' is so insensitive and pervert, I don't know why , it is because they were failure most of the time. Its just so disgusting..

You are right, human values inside us have vanished, we are near to become opportunistic beasts.
