Recently BMW introduced new models of BMW 5 series in India last week. The German luxury car maker is geared towards strengthening its presence in the Indian car market. New models are priced in a range of Rs. 36.5 lakh to Rs. 46.8 lakh. The company has introduced 525i and 530i as two new petrol models while BMW 520d, 530d, and 530D Highline are diesel engine variants in the BMW 5 series. The new models shall be available in a range of refined colours such as the new non-metallic Alpine White, metallic Black Sapphire, Monaco Blue, Titanium Silver and Platinum Grey.

As Honda took first step to launch Hybrid car in India, hence it will now encourage other car makers too to consider India among first Hybrid market too. So now German luxury car maker BMW is considering bringing hybrid vehicle in India within the next two years after it makes global debut, which is expected to happen in the next 18 months. BMW, under its EfficientDynamics programme, has been developing hybrid vehicles and showcased ConceptX6 ActiveHybrid at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The company, which has had a successful start to its Indian venture, has also raised its sales target in the country by 40 per cent to 2,800 units this year.
