It’s the golden jubilee year for the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition, Pusa. It is situated at the capital city New Delhi and it works under the Ministry of Tourism of Government of India. The institute was established in the year of 1962, it has a long and beautiful journey in its fifty years of existence. It is eventually an autonomous registered society under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.

In 1962 the institute started its voyage in the barracks in the Pusa complex and then it shifted to the existing campus. The campus has Teaching Block, Hostels and Staff flats too. The existing campus was set up in the year of 1967-68. In the initial period of time all the certification was done by the Board of Technical Education, Delhi. In 1982 the institute was transferred to Ministry of Tourism from Ministry of Agriculture, and in 1986 the affiliation from National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology was done.

Under the Capacity Building Service Providers Scheme of Ministry of Tourism, the institute started Training Programmes of “Hunar se Rozgar” in the year 2010. It also started Training Programmes of “National Skill Certification” under the same scheme of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

The present scenario is that now the institute is conducting four Training Programmes of “Hunar se Rozgar” and two Training Programmes of “National Skill Certification”. It has already trained 944 persons in “Hunar se Rozgar” and 3,480 people in “National Skill Certification”.
