Good news for those who find it hard to get suitable tariff plans for them but if they get, company changes it soon. But now it will be no same. Presently company can't change your plan before 6 month's of subscription but now in a move likely to protect consumer interests, regulator Trai on Wednesday proposed to hike the ‘minimum protection period’ from the current period of six months to one year from the date of enrollment to tariff plan.

''Protection period' ensures that consumers are not subject to tariff hikes from operators in diversion to the tariff plan they have opted.

“However, lifetime subscribers and subscribers in longer periods of validity will continue to be protected for the lifetime and with respect to the longer periods of validity subscribed to by the consumers,”
