It is reported that android took 51.7 percent of smartphone sales in April 2013.
But iOS and windows phone are growing faster than Android. iOS grew 2.3 percent from April 2012, and windows phone grew 1.8 percent. Android grew 1.4 percent during the same period.

52% is quite good i think it should be 100% as most of the biggest manufacturers using Android Operating system in their devices.

Android has totally changed the face of entire mobile world, even in India people are crazy for android every second person is holding android smartphone and this android is responsible for down in demand of Nokia mobiles and increase in demand of Samsung mobiles.

Yes, Android has changed face of mobile in whole world. Because of Android, now even small time manufacturers are able to produce high end phones as now they dn't have have to worry about OS , just assemble hardware, install Android and you have a smartphone .

But in US, people like iphone more than Android. In the global smartphone market, Android only has 70.1% smartphone share.

Ok.. but what is the market share of Android worldwide ?

@atobe I agree that in US iphone is more in demand as comparison with android but here in India people go for android, as there are dew limitations in iphone.

@ justice7 I agree. But I also saw a news that said the iphone sales in India grew by 400%.
