My home desktop PC's motherboard has conked off. I need a replacement motherboard for Intel Q6600. Am looking for a microATX G41 chipset with DDR3 RAM so that now I could have some increased performance. As P45 chipset would be out of my budget. Kindly suggest.

All I will say is that microATX boards feature wise have lesser slots and components than ATX form factor boards, and so would also not be able to give increased performance as those with P45 chipset, and even DDR3 RAMs would just compensate a little and will still lag behind in performance of DDR3 RAM fitted ATX sized boards.

As Intel q6600 supports a 775 chipset, and you want a microATX mobo for that, then you'll have to consider G-41 series mobos. For G41 chipset with DDR3 you can look at MSI G41-M26, Biostar G41D3 ver6.2, Gigabyte GA-G41MT-S2P or ASUS P5G41T-M mobos.
