Read this from Indian Express:

In a bid to negate the Supreme Court order which had said that MPs and MLAs convicted of a crime should stand disqualified, the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday passed the Representation of the People (Amendment and Validation) Bill.
The Bill will now go to the Lok Sabha for its consideration and passing. Once the Lok Sabha passes the Bill, the amendments to the RP Act shall come into effect from July 10, 2013, the day the apex court gave the judgment. After examining the Supr*eme Court order, the government had filed a review petition, but instead of waiting for the outcome, it felt the need to suitably address the situation, according to the statement of objects and reasons of the Bill.

Seriously, feeling so disgusted. It is quite evident that political parties are so much united when its about their own benefit, be it in power or be it opposition. Lokpal bill was evident example how much united they are and they never let Lokpal bill pass in original form and now they have passed rule against SC order which was actually hampering their own purpose .. sad !
