Slowdown in world economy is not yet over, the depreciation of Rupee is causing overhead to imports. And to cope up the increased import prices due to lower value of Rupee, the Honda has decided to increase prices of its various models. Since many parts of Honda cars are important so its likely to impact all cars. The price increase will be from Rs. 10000 to Rs. 1.50 lakhs.
Their SUV CR-V will get the biggest threat with price rise of Rs. 1.50 lakhs as its imported as CBU. While price of the luxury sedan Accord will go up by Rs 30,000-50,000, Civic will likely to be dearer by Rs 10,000-20,000.
The price of New Honda City will remain same as their are already many bookings as well as the this is a new launch. The imported component on the Accord is about 75% and on the Civic about 22%. The new City has about 26% imported parts.
Sources say that this price hike is obvious and chances are that other manufactures may also increase price of their cars in which important components makes the majority.
