How to increase Honda Aviator Scooter Mileage which is very low now

Sir, I need help, I have Honda Aviator Scooter purchased in March 2013, the scooter runs properly and is mostly used for city riding and we ride it very carefully . but we are facing very low mileage issue. We have calculated mileage couple of times and it is giving merely and average of 22KMPL which is very . As per normal user experience, it should give mileage more than 35kmpl or nearly 40 kmpl.

I have asked service center several time but they are not able to fix it . Now its little more than a year and we are still facing this issue. What is the cause of this problem is still uknown. We have completed only 4500 km with this scooter.

Please advice.

22kmpl is really low.
What was the reply of service center guy for the low mileage when you showed your vehicle to them ?

You can do following things:
1.Check air filter
2. Get carburetor cleaned up
3. Make sure you get unadulterated fuel.
4. Drive at an average of 40kmph

Other than this I can think of some problem with engine, get it checked elsewhere, may be engine has some fault or it wearing out.. may be bad oil or oil was never replaced thus caused this problem.

I agree with Aarish, those are some valid points. Also make sure yo uthat air pressure in tyres is always at required level, it also affect life of tyre and mileage.
