Hi Bizyman, welcome to eTI forums.

Yes, your CPU supports virtualization with AMD-V technology, most of the time the virtualization extensions can not be disabled in the BIOS for AMD-V.

Can you please again check your BIOS with following things in mind :

    • Power on the machine and open the BIOS (as per Step 1).
    • Open the Processor submenu The processor settings menu may be hidden in the Chipset, Advanced CPU Configuration or Northbridge.
    • Enable AMD-V depending on the brand of the processor. The virtualization extensions may be labeled Virtualization Extensions, Vanderpool or various other names depending on the OEM and system BIOS.
    • Enable AMD IOMMU, if the options are available. AMD IOMMU are used for PCI passthrough.
    • Select Save & Exit.

Also, since you are running windows 8.1, can you install Microsoft Coreinfo command line utility and run your cmd as Admin and post output of following command (make sure you have placed coreinfo.exe in C:\windows\system32 folder or you are in same folder where you have extracted coreinfo.exe)

    coreinfo -v
Also, sometimes in laptops, vendors does not give option for managing AMD-V at all.

Hey Savera I tried to do it this way and there is nothing even remotely leading toward enabling virtualization. Also I am using a desktop. I've searched every corner of the BIOS and there is nothing there.... I'm not sure maybe I'm missing something.

    What about coreinfo stuff ?

Other thing I can think of is to update your BIOS, may be it can bring new features and options. For that you need to look for your motherboard model and then manufacturer website for updates.
