Earth going for 6th mass extinction - now mini ICE age by expected 2030

We know that Global climate of earth is changing, it is disturbed and its worsening with time but how bad it is ? Scientist around the world are working to evaluate situation and to understand it better. However, not long ago, ie last month it was published in The Guardian that the earth stands on brink of its sixth mass extinction.

As per Gerardo Caballos of the National Autonomous University of Mexico and his colleagues have assessed, in a paper that came out on recently that the modern world is experiencing a “sixth great extinction” of animal species even when the lowest estimates of extinction rates are considered, scientists have warned.

The rate of extinction for species in the 20th century was up to 100 times higher than it would have been without man’s impact, they said.

Many conservationists have been warning for years that a mass extinction event akin to the one that wiped out the dinosaurs is occurring as humans degrade and destroy habitats.

In this world hhere are many millions of species, many elusive and rare, and inhabiting remote and dangerous places. Its not easy to keep track of all those yet there are many brave biologist who keeps their track and loss any of the species is disheartening.

The scientist take count of rate of extinction of species and then compare it with long term baseline. However, it is not that easy as it sounds. Under a “natural” rate of extinction, the study said that two species go extinct per 10,000 species per 100 years, rather than the one species that previous work has assumed.

Modern rates of extinction were eight to 100 times higher ,the authors found. For example, 477 vertebrates have gone extinct since 1900, rather than the nine that would be expected at natural rates. And who is responsible for this mass extinction at such a accelerated rate, its us human.

We have disturbed the ecological balance by our extraneous and enormous expansions, though we are doing this all for our survival but it affects whole earth at very great extent and our own existence is also on stake because of this.

Further, more recently it is reported by telegraph.co.uk that the earth is heading towards mini-ice age in next 15 years. Solar researchers at the University of Northumbria have created a new model of the sun's activity which they claim produces "unprecedentedly accurate predictions".

They said fluid movements within the sun, which are thought to create 11-year cycles in the weather, will converge in such a way that temperatures will fall dramatically in the 2030s.

Solar activity will fall by 60 per cent as two waves of fluid "effectively cancel each other out", according to Prof Valentina Zharkova.

Hence if that happens, we may get further accelerated mass extinction as predicted as this sudden change on global climate might work as catalyst in whole process. It looks like we have done damage to the extent that we can't fix it completely but still its time to think high and take measures collaboratively world-wide irrespective of boundaries or borders.

I think we are all going to die very soon than it is predicted. I see miss-utilization of resources everywhere, wastage and inhuman acted. We used to think it will take thousands of year for us to reach the extinction but I think it will be in next few hundred years.
