Reliance Jio finally announced their commercial plan. Biggest catch is that there is no charge for voice calling in any of the plan. Below is the list of plans courtesy ndtv.com

So it is interesting to see that these plans are not really that exciting and there is no true unlimited plan in terms of data. Here The the 4G tariffs start at Rs. 149 for 28 days, for 300MB. For Rs. 499 per month you get a big step up, to 4GB of 4G data, plus unlimited 4G at night, for 28 days. You'll also get 8GB of access from Reliance Jio's upcoming network of Wi-Fi hotspots, further increasing the amount of data you can use. For Rs. 999, that goes up to 10GB of 4G data, and 20GB of Wi-Fi usage, plus unlimited usage at night. Further plans are for Rs. 1,499 for 20GB, Rs. 2,499 for 35GB, and Rs. 3,999 for 60GB of 4G data, and twice as much Wi-Fi usage respectively. The most expensive plan is for Rs. 4,999 for 75GB of 4G usage plus unlimited 4G usage at night, and 150GB of Wi-Fi data. The postpaid plans are similar, but you'll be paying taxes as well.

There are also a couple of other plans that were not mentioned in the presentation - aside from the various monthly plans, there is also a plan where you pay Rs. 19 for 100MB of data, plus unlimited nighttime usage, with a single day's validity. You also have a Rs. 129 plan with a 7 day validity offering 750MB and 1.5GB of Wi-Fi data, plus unlimited night usage, and a Rs. 229 plan which has a 21 day validity, for 2GB of data. These three plans are only for prepaid users.

There is another catch that we have unlimited 4G night usage. If that is true then like early days BSNL broadband where night download was unlimited in few LIMITED plan, there will be many takers who will just buy it for night unlimited usage.

They are also offering other Reliance streaming and OTT services free as of now. Just to add here, from September 5th, 2016, now everyone can buy Reliance Jio SIM, that too with free unlimited preview offer till 31st December. Which means, real commercial operation of Reliance Jio will start from year 2017.

Free voice calling always, this is going to hurt seriously. I think its their evil strategy to just wipe out the competition as other telecom operators major source of revenue is still from voice traffic. Although RJIO network is not yet strong in terms of voice but unlimited calling is just plain shock for rivals.

And their data plans, I am not happy at all, but they will start charging for it only from next year so, I guess they are are going to change them soon. May be they are tricking rivals to now work on voice part of business plan as earlier everyone was betting upon RJIO's data plan pricing.

I think its just a start, lot more is yet to come.
